Ethereum Price Targets $3,000 as Glamsterdam Upgrade Looms
Ethereum has made a significant gain over the past quarter, increasing by 57% to outpace other major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, XRP, and Solana. However, the price still needs to climb approximately 11% to reach $3,000, a level it briefly touched in January 2026.
The current price of Ethereum is around $2,706, with a resistance level at $2,807, which was reached on September 21. If Ethereum can close above this level, it will bring the price within 7% of the $3,000 target.
However, there are concerns that selling pressure from previous holders who were left underwater when Ethereum's price dropped to $2,818 in January may resurface if the price reaches $3,000 again. Additionally, the Glamsterdam upgrade, which is currently being tested, could have a positive impact on the market sentiment and potentially boost the price.
Reaching $3,000 would require around $36 billion in new buying, which is significantly less than what would be needed to reach $5,000. The market cap of Ethereum would increase from around $330 billion to $366 billion, making it a feasible target.
