Ethereum Range Breakout Looms as Buyers Dominate Derivatives Markets

Ethereum has been experiencing a bullish trend since August, with a 41% rally in its price. The monthly low and high were at $1,820 and $2,567 respectively. This surge was accompanied by a net flow of $1.736 billion into spot ETFs since the 12th of August.

However, Ethereum's momentum has stalled in recent weeks, forming a range between $2,380 and $2,530 on its 4-hour chart. The swing high at $2,466 from April is also within this range, raising concerns about distribution at a key swing level.

The derivatives markets show an uptick in buying pressure, with the taker buy/sell ratio climbing to 1.11. Readings above 1 indicate that aggressive (taker) buy orders outweighed sellers, signaling buyer dominance.

Ali Martinez pointed out that 116,000 ETH, worth around $300 million, has been withdrawn from exchanges in the past two days. This could be a sign of accumulation and further supports the bullishness in the market.
