Ethereum Researchers Propose Quantum Security for $104B in ETH Staking
Ethereum researchers have taken the first step to protect approximately 42.4 million ETH from future quantum computer attacks.
The proposal, currently under review, aims to modify the deposit contract structure that allows users to become validators by locking ETH.
The current system fixes the size of BLS keys used by validators within the contract, making it difficult to adapt to new and more secure signature methods in the future.
The proposed solution involves adding a tag to each staking record indicating which cryptographic method is used.
