Ethereum Reveals Hegotá Roadmap and Quantum Resistance Plans
Ethereum's development roadmap, known as Hegotá, is taking shape. The Ethereum Foundation has released a detailed plan and tier list for the upgrade, which includes EIP-8141, also known as Frame Transactions.
This proposal would allow wallets to pay gas fees in stablecoins like USDC or USDT instead of ETH, making it easier for new users to onboard and simplifying activity involving stablecoins.
The Foundation has set a target of making Ethereum's base layer resistant to quantum computing attacks by December 2029. Other research areas include fast finality, privacy, state management, and zero-knowledge EVM (zkEVM) tooling.
