Ethereum, Ripple, and Solana Dominate Crypto Market with Unique Features
The Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), and Solana (SOL) blockchains are still gaining attention in the crypto market due to their unique features and purposes.
Ethereum supports smart contracts, decentralized applications, and a broad blockchain ecosystem. It powers the Ethereum blockchain, which was launched in 2015 by Vitalik Buterin and other developers. The network has more than 500,000 daily active addresses, with users paying network fees in ETH when interacting with applications and services.
Ripple focuses on faster, lower-cost cross-border payments for financial institutions. XRP serves as the native asset of the XRP Ledger and has a fixed supply of 100 billion tokens. Ripple Labs developed the network to facilitate international payments, and it has attracted attention from financial institutions due to its efficiency in reducing settlement times.
Solana emphasizes fast transactions, low fees, and growing tokenization activity. The blockchain uses SOL as its native asset and has attracted users across decentralized finance, trading, and digital assets. Solana has significantly higher daily active addresses than Ethereum and reached a market capitalization of roughly $47 billion in March 2026.
