Ethereum Sepolia Testnet Updated Ahead of Capacity Boost
Ethereum's Sepolia testnet recently underwent a last-minute software update from one of its main validator clients. This adjustment occurred just before a critical test designed to increase the network's block capacity to 200 million gas. The update aims to enhance the testnet's performance and prepare it for future scalability improvements.
Separately, on-chain analyst Aunt Ai reported that the address GMGN transferred approximately 11,999.5 ETH (valued at around $2.3 million) to Coinbase's Batch Staking address for staking purposes. Notably, a week prior, GMGN had deposited ETH worth $16.38 million into a trading platform, raising suspicions of potential selling intentions.
In broader market news, Ethereum saw a modest gain of 0.28%, reaching a price of $2,713.00. This marks the highest level since September 22, 2026, when the cryptocurrency traded at $2,748.68. The latest increase also represents the largest percentage gain since October 4, 2026, when Ethereum rose by 0.72%.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is advancing its own set of crypto market-structure rules following Congress's failure to pass the CLARITY Act. CFTC Chairman Michael Selig emphasized that this is just the beginning of regulatory efforts in the crypto space.
Additionally, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved the trading of 3x leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum funds, providing new investment opportunities for traders.
