Ethereum Sets Sights on Scalable, Private High-Security Computation by 2030

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has outlined his vision for the Ethereum network in 2030, which he calls 'The cryptographic world computer.'

According to Buterin, this new version of Ethereum will combine blockchain technology with cryptographic proofs and networks of computers working outside it.

The goal is to make the network more scalable, cheaper, and private, allowing for high-security computation that was not possible with previous technology alone.

Buterin argues that mathematical proofs can help break the constraint of computers repeating much of the same work to check transactions, allowing different computers to tackle different jobs while still checking one another's results.

He also plans to improve privacy by hiding requests for account information and balance checks, making it harder for outside servers to learn which accounts a person follows.
