Ethereum Soars 57%, Eyes Next Stop at $3,000
Ethereum has outperformed other major cryptocurrencies over the last quarter, rising approximately 57% since September 30. This performance surpasses Solana's 48%, XRP's 37%, and Bitcoin's 36%. Despite this success, Ethereum still lags behind its record high of $4,946 set on August 24, 2025, sitting at about 46% below that price.
With a current trading value of $2,706, Ethereum needs to rise around 11% to reach the milestone of $3,000. This would not only mark a return to January prices but also make this year positive for the coin. However, reaching $3,000 depends on surpassing the September 21 high of $2,807 and closing above it.
The upcoming Glamsterdam network test on October 6 could potentially lift Ethereum's price or send it sliding in a different direction. Investors must also consider competition from traditional bonds, as the 10-year Treasury yield was at 5.17% on September 25, offering an attractive alternative to price appreciation through staking.
