Ethereum Staking Hits Record 32% Amid Exchange Reserves Collapse

Ethereum's staking ratio has reached an all-time high near 32%, with over one-third of the total supply locked in validators. This marks a significant shift from early 2021, when the staked share was nearly zero.

The amount of Ethereum held on exchanges has declined by more than half since its peak in 2021, falling to around 14.9 million ETH. Negative netflows indicate that more coins are leaving exchanges than entering them, further tightening the available supply.

Analysts argue that this record staking rate creates a genuine supply floor, but warn that prices held up by derivatives leverage rather than spot demand can unwind quickly. The market remains exposed as the supply side tightens, and it's unclear whether the structural squeeze will translate into higher prices.
