Ethereum Staking Hits Record High as Price Struggles to Break Out
Ethereum has reached an important milestone in its staking journey, with approximately 35% of ETH now committed to securing the proof-of-stake network. The data from Ethereum.org shows over 43 million ETH staked, a significant increase that could impact the cryptocurrency's supply dynamics.
However, despite this surge in staking participation, ETH has struggled to break out of its recent consolidation and reclaim higher prices. The price recently fell below $2,400, a key level that had been providing support, and has not yet shown signs of recovery.
The divergence between increasing supply scarcity and stagnant price action is striking. With more ETH being committed to staking every day, the available supply for trading is decreasing, but buyers have not been strong enough to push the price up.
Some analysts suggest that if demand strengthens, particularly from institutional investors, Ethereum's price could potentially rise again, with targets ranging from $2,600 to a more ambitious $3,050. However, this scenario is conditional and relies on a significant increase in buying pressure.
