Ethereum Staking Queue Hits Record Backlog, Impacting Price Levels
The Ethereum staking queue is currently experiencing a significant backlog, with 1.6 million ETH waiting for activation, which could take around 28 days.
This means that anyone depositing today will see their validator activated only on October 28, and during this time, the ETH they deposited cannot be sold or moved.
The entry queue has grown to 1.6 million ETH, with a waiting time of 27 days and 20 hours, while the exit queue stands at 205,011 ETH, worth approximately $546 million, with a waiting time of 3 days and 13 hours.
This backlog is due to the Ethereum protocol's fixed amount of entries and exits per epoch, currently 256 ETH, which limits the daily throughput to 57,600 ETH.
