Ethereum Staking Ratio Hits Record 34.4% Amid Growing Adoption
The Ethereum network has reached a new milestone in its transition to proof-of-stake, with over a third of all ETH tokens now locked up in staking contracts. The staking ratio has climbed to 34.4% of total ETH supply, the highest level ever recorded for the network.
This marks nearly three years since Ethereum completed its transition from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake on September 15, 2022, with the community calling it the Merge. Since then, the amount of ETH flowing into staking contracts has increased steadily.
The adoption of liquid staking protocols like Lido has been a significant factor in this trend. These protocols allow users to stake their ETH while receiving a liquid token in return, making it easier for retail and institutional investors to participate.
