Ethereum Surges Above $2K Amid Leverage and ETF Inflows
Ethereum's price surged by over 18% in just hours, pushing it above $2,000. This sudden uptick is attributed to a combination of factors, including leverage, new investors, supply dynamics, and a breakout from an accumulation pattern.
A whale on the Hyperliquid exchange created a fresh wallet and loaded $20 million in USDC, then opened a 4x leveraged long position of 20,000 ETH. The position coincided with the surge, suggesting the whale may have been privy to the move.
The buying pressure was also fueled by Ethereum Spot ETFs, which added $189.15 million prior to the price increase. BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale led the pack with $122 million, $36.54 million, and $16 million, respectively.
