Ethereum Surges Ahead Amid Fed Rate Hike Fears
Ethereum has outperformed other major cryptocurrencies over the past three months, rising 57% and trading at $2,706, about 45% below its peak. Solana and XRP have also seen growth, increasing by 48% and 37%, respectively. However, Bitcoin trails behind but remains resilient, with a price of $83,893, only 33% below its record high.
The Fed's potential rate hike in October could impact the market, with a 64% chance of a quarter-point increase during the meeting on October 27-28. This could lead to increased borrowing costs and affect speculative cryptocurrencies. NEAR Protocol has stood out among smaller coins, increasing by about 230% year-to-date.
Zcash has also performed well, rising 75% last month, but its current price of $1,402 is still below its peak. Other coins like Sui, Uniswap, and Litecoin have seen gains between 38% and 74%, but their momentum may be short-lived.
