Ethereum Surges Past 6.5% as Staking and Whale Transactions Boost Demand
Ethereum surged by 6.5% in the last 24 hours to trade at $2,618.67, reaching a level not seen since January 2026.
This price rally occurred despite several negative developments that would have typically impacted its bullish momentum, including the Federal Reserve raising interest rates and the CLARITY Act failing to advance in the Senate.
However, Ethereum's whale transactions saw a surge, with its holder base continuing to expand to a record 207.17 million non-empty wallets.
The significant removal of ETH from immediately available market supply due to staking has also supported long-term demand for the altcoin.
