Ethereum Traders Clash Over $24,500 Price Target
Ethereum's price is currently being debated on Reddit, with traders clashing over how high it could go next. According to recent discussion, some users believe that ETH may reach $15,000 or even $24,500 in the future, while others question whether prolonged consolidation and network growth can justify such high valuations.
The debate centers around two main issues: how far price could move after a breakout and whether expanding network activity translates into stronger value for ETH. Some users argue that long consolidation automatically strengthens a future breakout, but others disagree, citing market capitalization as a better comparison than token price.
Ethereum's current circulating supply is approximately 122.09 million tokens, giving it a market capitalization of around $326 billion. If the price were to reach $5,000, the implied valuation would be about $610 billion, while a move to $10,000 would raise that figure to roughly $1.22 trillion.
The network's expanding ecosystem has led to increased activity, with DefiLlama recording over $146.33 billion in stablecoin market capitalization and $13.93 billion in active real-world assets on the network. Additionally, Ethereum's official staking launchpad reports 42.01 million ETH staked across 884,877 validators.
As a result, participants are differing over how much monetary value these developments should ultimately support. Some users expect a breakout beyond $5,000-$10,000, while others question whether current fundamentals justify five-figure valuations.
