Ethereum Traders Clash Over Five-Figure Price Targets
Ethereum's Reddit community is divided over how high its price could go next. Some traders expect ETH to break through the $5,000-$10,000 range, while others question whether current fundamentals justify such high valuations.
The token currently trades near $2,690, roughly 46% below its record high of $4,953.73 from August 2025. The disagreement centers on how much value Ethereum's expanding ecosystem can create for the token itself.
DefiLlama reports that about $146.33 billion in stablecoin market capitalization and $13.93 billion in active real-world assets are on the network. Meanwhile, staking has seen 42.01 million ETH staked across 884,877 validators, representing roughly one-third of the circulating supply.
The central debate is whether these measurable fundamentals can translate into enough value for ETH to support five-figure prices. Ethereum's $4,953.73 record remains a key reference point, with some participants arguing that a move from current prices to $5,000 would require an 87% increase.
