Ethereum turned 11 on July 30, 2026, marking another milestone for the Blockchain network launched in 2015. Its native cryptocurrency, Ether (ETH), remains the world's second-largest by market capitalization after Bitcoin.

The Ethereum network has seen significant growth and innovation since its launch, with major upgrades such as The Merge in 2022 reducing energy consumption by over 99% while maintaining security and decentralization.

Vitalik Buterin conceived the project in 2013, and it took nearly two years to complete. By introducing smart contracts, Ethereum opened the door to innovations like DeFi, Stablecoins, tokenization, NFTs, and decentralized applications.

Experts believe that institutional adoption and spot ETFs will drive Ethereum's future price growth, with Edul Patel, CEO of Mudrex, stating that 'the biggest driver of Ethereum's price over the next 12 months will be institutional adoption, rather than retail speculation.'
