Ethereum Unveils Platåberget Testnet Ahead of Glamsterdam Upgrade
Ethereum has launched the Platåberget testnet, a temporary testing environment for developers and validators to prepare for the upcoming Glamsterdam fork.
The Platåberget testnet will run for several months and is scheduled to transition to the Glam amsterdam upgrade on August 20, 2026.
The Glamsterdam fork introduces significant changes to Ethereum's consensus and execution layers, including gas repricing, enshrined proposer-builder separation (ePBS), and block-level access lists.
Developers are strongly encouraged to test their tools and infrastructure on Platåberget as the changes will impact wallets, indexers, gas estimators, and other applications reliant on Ethereum's existing mechanics.
