The Ethereum Foundation has warned that some wallets and tools could stop working after the planned Glamsterdam upgrade.

The upgrade, set to deploy on Thursday, introduces a new gas model overhaul under EIP-8037, which adds an extra state-gas charge for transfers to new accounts.

Sending Ether to existing accounts will still cost 21,000 gas, but transfers to new accounts will incur the additional state-gas charge.

The foundation said software that assumes all Ether transfer costs are 21,000 gas must be reviewed and updated immediately.
