An Ethereum whale has made a significant move, purchasing nearly $63 million worth of ETH during the latest market dip. The investor accumulated 27,553 ETH over five hours at an average price of $2,286, according to on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain. This followed an earlier purchase of 16,658 ETH using nearly $38 million in USDC, bringing the total purchase value to over $62 million. The rapid buying spree suggests confidence in the current price range, even as Ethereum trades below $2,300.

The whale's strategy remains unclear, as the purchases could represent long-term accumulation, short-term trading, or liquidity management. However, the scale of the buying stands out, with a $62 million position giving the investor substantial exposure to any potential rebound. Traders are now watching the wallet’s next move, particularly if ETH begins recovering above the whale’s average purchase price.

Ethereum’s fundamentals add to the bullish case, with the network holding $44.5 billion in decentralized finance total value locked. Around 36% of ETH’s supply is also staked, reducing the amount of Ether available for trading. These factors support the idea that price weakness could be a potential opportunity for investors. The next signal will come from price action around the $2,280, $2,300 zone, where holding this area and attracting further buying could help ETH establish a foundation for recovery.

The market is now watching to see if this $63 million bet marks the start of an accumulation trend or simply one investor making a high-conviction move while volatility remains elevated.
