Ethereum Whales Absorb Liquidity as Supply Shock Unfolds
The Ethereum (ETH) price has been under scrutiny lately due to its 'Extreme Greed' sentiment, but whales are quietly locking up a significant amount of ETH for the long haul. On the Ethereum Beacon Chain, there is an unprecedented supply shock unfolding.
Currently, the entry queue on the chain stands at 2,184,988 ETH, which translates to a 38-day waiting list. In contrast, the exit queue is practically zero with only 96 ETH available for immediate withdrawal. This means that nearly 35% of all ETH supply is locked up and off the market.
The significant amount of ETH staked on the validator nodes suggests that institutional players are not looking to flip their coins for a quick profit. Instead, they are locking up liquidity for the long term. As such, any deep pullback in the ETH price is no longer seen as a trend reversal but rather a violent leverage reset and a massive bear trap.
While there is still a possibility of a short-term dip or correction, the current on-chain data suggests that smart money is absorbing every drop of liquidity. This means that investors should be cautious not to sell their ETH at lower levels due to market panic.
