Ethereum's 2030 Vision: A Blockchain of Proofs

Ethereum's co-founder Vitalik Buterin has outlined a vision for the blockchain in 2030, one that will see it leveraging cryptographic proofs and off-chain computers to process transactions more efficiently.

According to Buterin, this new system would allow users to independently verify results without having to repeat the same calculations, thereby improving privacy for payments, balances, and wallet activity.

The proposed system relies on mathematical proofs that can be checked by other computers without redoing all the original work. This will enable different computers to tackle different jobs while still checking one another's results.

Buterin notes that earlier attempts at dividing the workload were hindered by the lack of a reliable verification mechanism, but with newer cryptographic tools, this constraint can be broken.
