Ethereum's 57% Quarter Rally Falters on Path to $3,000
Ethereum has posted its strongest quarter among major cryptocurrencies, with a 57% gain over the last 90 days.
This surge has traders wondering if Ethereum can reach $3,000 again, a price point it last saw in January 2026.
Despite the recent rally, Ethereum is trading around $2,706, about 45% below its all-time high of $4,946 reached in August 2025.
To hit $3,000, Ethereum needs to climb approximately 11%, but it faces a stubborn ceiling and selling pressure from those who previously held the price back in January.
The Ethereum developers are working on an important upgrade called Glamsterdam, which is scheduled to start testing on the Sepolia test network on October 6.
A successful test could boost market sentiment, but if Ethereum closes below $2,564, the momentum seen this quarter might start to fade, and the journey to $3,000, and even a push towards $4,000, could be pushed back to 2027.
