Ethereum's Bounce Fails to Hold as Resistance Remains Strong
Ethereum's recent price action has been marked by a temporary bounce from oversold Relative Strength Index (RSI) conditions, but this is not necessarily a sign of a reversal. According to FXLeaders, Ethereum broke below a key bullish trend line and now trades below the 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA), which is acting as strong resistance.
The RSI bounce off oversold territory normally signals a reversal setup, but in this case, Ethereum's inability to clear the 50-day EMA has made it difficult for the price to rally properly. Every attempt to surpass this key level has been met with selling pressure, and the moving average has become a formidable barrier.
The negative momentum against Ethereum is building, with the price stuck in a corrective downtrend that has been grinding lower for weeks. Breaking below the bullish trend line was a signal that the correction's accelerating, and now it's not just a breather during an uptrend anymore, it's an actual reversal pattern.
The 50-day EMA currently sits around $1,850, and getting price above this level decisively would make a bounce credible. Until then, oversold RSI conditions just mean less immediate panic selling, not actual recovery.
