Ethereum developers have delayed the target timeline for the next mainnet upgrade, Glamsterdam, to the fourth quarter of 2026 from the first half of that year.

The Ethereum development team plans to conduct several months of testing for Glamsterdam through the public testnets Platåberget, Sepolia and Hoodi.

Developers are reviewing proposals for the follow-up upgrade Hegotá, including improvements to block production speed, Layer 1 throughput, censorship resistance and privacy, and plan to finalize the priority candidates by the end of August.
