Ethereum's Glamsterdam Upgrade Hits Testnets Ahead of Mainnet Deployment
The Ethereum community is abuzz as Glamsterdam upgrade progresses from devnets to public testnets. According to an announcement, the testnet networks have forked ahead of a planned mainnet deployment later in the year.
As part of this major scaling upgrade, Ethereum's gas limit is expected to increase by more than threefold, significantly expanding its base-layer capacity.
The move from devnets to testnets de-risks the core ETH fee-and-burn thesis, which shows that the scaling path is progressing on schedule before mainnet activation. However, it remains to be seen whether this will translate into a successful final deployment.
Testnet readiness does not guarantee final deployment timing, and the decisive catalyst for this upgrade remains the mainnet activation itself.
