Ethereum's October performance has been inconsistent over the years, with five out of eight Octobers ending higher since 2018. However, the last two Octobers, in 2024 and 2025, were exceptions to this trend.

The standout year for Ethereum was 2021, when it saw a 42.9% increase in price, followed by 2022 with an 18.4% gain, 2023 with 8.6%, 2020 with 7.4%, and 2019 with a mere 0.7% increase.

On the other hand, the years that ended lower were 2018 at -14.7%, 2024 at -3.2%, and 2025 at -7.2%. The Sepolia testnet is set to be upgraded on October 6, but this does not affect the main Ethereum network.

Ether is currently trading around $2,690, still short of its record high from August 2025 by 46%.
