Ethereum's Post-Hegota Overhaul: A Hybrid System Takes Shape

Ethereum's post-Hegota overhaul is underway, according to Vitalik Buterin. In his 'Cryptographic World Computer' essay, he described Ethereum's future as a hybrid system combining consensus with zero-knowledge proofs and decentralized computations off-chain.

The Ethereum roadmap points toward changes in verification, consensus, privacy, transaction processing, and state management after Hegota. The first proposal, FOCIL (EIP-7805), would allow validators to create inclusion lists that builders must obey.

Frame Transactions (EIP-8141) would give account owners discretion on how transactions will be authorized. This proposal allows for social recovery, spending control, sponsored gas, and quantum-proof signatures.
