Ethereum's Tenfold Hurdle: Market Expansion and Share Growth Required
Ethereum's price has been on a tear lately, gaining 71% in the last three months. However, to reach its peak of $4,946, it would need to increase by another 86%. Even then, Ethereum's market cap would still be lower than the current crypto market value of $2.86 trillion.
The math suggests that for Ethereum to tenfold from its current price of around $2,663, it would require a market value of approximately $3.25 trillion. However, this is not possible without significant growth in the overall crypto market and Ethereum capturing a larger share of it.
Ethereum's uncapped supply means that more coins are entering circulation, which could push the required market cap even higher than $3.25 trillion. This makes it challenging for Ethereum to achieve a tenfold increase, especially considering its current 11% market share.
