ETHFI Breaks Out, Surges 13.68%, Then Reverses as Traders Seek Profit
ETHFI experienced a sudden price surge of 13.68% on September 10 after breaking out of its long-range consolidation around $0.60. The move was driven by technical analysis, with volume and momentum indicators aligning in favor of the breakout.
The intraday high reached near $0.72, while the close was around $0.70, marking a strong buying momentum and a technical breakout from its base. Key support levels were seen at $0.60-$0.61 and $0.65-$0.66, which is the former range top and band support.
However, after the initial pump, ETHFI's price structure looked stretched, setting up for a retrace that left 24-hour performance slightly negative. The market saw a local high in the low $0.70s followed by a slide to about $0.61 and then a bounce back toward the high $0.60s.
Some traders explicitly framed ETHFI as 'overheated' and started advertising short setups after the pump, expecting a pullback toward moving averages. The 25-hour swing reflects a textbook breakout that attracted momentum buyers, followed by quickly looking crowded, inviting shorts and profit-taking that produced the pullback behind the approximately -2% 24-hour result.
