EU Review Puts Prediction Markets on Radar

Share

The European Commission has opened a consultation on reviewing the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), which will determine the future of prediction markets in Europe.

On May 20, 2026, the Commission began accepting feedback on whether decentralized ledger technology (DLT) based prediction markets should be subject to EU rules and, if so, under which regulation.

The initial deadline for responses was August 31, but it has been extended to September 30, 2026.
