EU Semiconductor Initiative Selects Trust Stamp for Biometric Identity Project
Trust Stamp, an AI-powered biometric identity company listed on Nasdaq under ticker IDAI, has joined the European Union's IPCEI AST initiative to develop biometric identity binding for trusted chips. The €3 billion project aims to achieve semiconductor sovereignty in Europe.
The Malta subsidiary of Trust Stamp secured a spot with support from Malta Enterprise and will work on creating a system where a semiconductor device can cryptographically prove its association with a specific, verified human being.
This approach goes beyond traditional authentication methods, such as entering passwords, by utilizing hardware-rooted security. The company is also exploring authentication methods for brain-computer interfaces, which has implications for the growing field of neural devices in humans.
