EU Slams Sanctions on 14 Crypto Platforms Linked to Russia
The European Union has introduced its 21st sanctions package against Russia, which includes extending transaction bans to 14 crypto service platforms. Several of these banned platforms are based in Belarus, and the EU has granted itself the power to ban crypto services in an entire country if that country helps Russia evade sanctions.
The regulatory escalation increases compliance and adoption risks for cross-border Centralized Exchange (CEX) and Decentralized Exchange (DEX) operations. It also heightens enforcement pressure on crypto firms and could constrain Russian-linked crypto flows and liquidity.
