European Banks Gather in Madrid to Advance Euro Stablecoin Plans
From October 27 to 29, 2026, the Merge Madrid event will bring together over 3,000 attendees and 250 speakers to discuss the future of euro stablecoins. The event, hosted at the Madrid Stock Exchange and the Palacio de Cibeles, will feature major European banks like Santander, BBVA, BNP Paribas, CaixaBank, and the Qivalis consortium, which includes 37 banks working on launching a euro stablecoin.
The event kicks off with an institutional summit on October 27, followed by two days of conferences and exhibitions. At least ten Qivalis member banks will have speakers, including BBVA, CaixaBank, and BNP Paribas. Other participants include crypto platforms like Kraken, Bit2Me, and Tether, as well as regulatory bodies such as the CNMV and the European Banking Authority.
Attendees can expect to learn about existing crypto offerings from banks like Openbank and BBVA, which already provide cryptocurrency trading and custody services. Qivalis, aiming for a euro stablecoin launch in the second half of 2026, will discuss its progress and the regulatory landscape under the MiCA framework.
Ticket prices range from €119.20 for a one-day pass to €2,399.20 for a three-day business pass, with a 20% discount available using the code MERGECOINTRIBUNE20. The event promises direct access to key players shaping the future of stablecoins in Europe.
