Europeans Rally Against Strict Stablecoin Rules
A grassroots campaign led by advocacy organization Stand With Crypto EU delivered over 50,000 letters to the European Commission, urging policymakers to revise restrictions on stablecoin rewards.
The MiCA consultation period closed on September 30, and the letters are part of a broader public outreach effort seeking more permissive stablecoin regulations in Europe.
Existing MiCA rules prohibit stablecoin issuers from providing interest payments, cashback incentives, or loyalty programs. The European System of Central Banks has advocated for expanded restrictions that would include lending, staking, and borrowing services.
