Revolut has started rolling out its first euro-backed stablecoin, EURR, to selected customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. The token is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a subsidiary of Stripe-owned stablecoin infrastructure company Bridge.

EURR is designed to maintain a value of €1 and initially runs on the Ethereum network, with plans for wider availability across European Economic Area markets later this year. Revolut customers can use EURR as an on-chain euro option without requiring a separate crypto platform.

Meanwhile, the European Central Bank (ECB) has strengthened its privacy commitments for a potential digital euro, stating that it would provide the maximum level of privacy current technology can support. Offline digital euro payments would remain visible only to the payer and recipient, while banks would retain information required for compliance checks.
