Evernorth Listing Fails to Boost XRP Prices as Lending Strategy Raises Supply Concerns
Evernorth is set to begin trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker XRPN on October 8, 2026. The company will have approximately 473 million XRP tokens on its balance sheet, valued at around $720 million at current prices.
This news has not significantly impacted XRP's price, which remains at around $1.52 as of October 2. However, there are concerns that Evernorth's lending strategy may put more XRP in the hands of short sellers, potentially increasing supply and putting downward pressure on prices.
Evernorth's funding comes from a variety of influential investors, including Ripple, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, Arrington Capital, Kraken, and GSR. The company's CEO, Asheesh Birla, is a former senior executive at Ripple who left the board to lead Evernorth.
It's worth noting that Evernorth already owns its 473 million XRP tokens, which were contributed by investors like Ripple and not newly purchased for this deal. This means that the listing itself is unlikely to create new demand for XRP.
