Fairshake boosts 32 House candidates with $6 million in midterm push
Fairshake, a prominent cryptocurrency political network, has announced its support for 32 House candidates in the upcoming midterm elections. The backing includes 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats, with a total commitment of at least $6 million across six key races. This move comes after the crypto industry's major legislative effort, the CLARITY Act, stalled in the Senate, leaving the regulatory future of the industry uncertain.
The Fairshake network, which includes two affiliated super PACs, entered September with approximately $120.4 million in cash on hand. The organization aims to preserve a pro-crypto bloc in Congress by supporting incumbents who have aligned with the industry's priorities. This marks the network's first broad push into general-election House races.
The spending spree follows a challenging period for crypto legislation, as the CLARITY Act failed to advance in the Senate. With the next Congress poised to play a crucial role in shaping the regulatory landscape for cryptocurrencies, Fairshake's political investments are seen as a strategic move to influence the outcome of the midterm elections.
