Fairshake Targets Sherrod Brown with $30M 'Revenge Spend' Campaign
The Fairshake super PAC has set aside $30 million to ensure Senator Sherrod Brown loses his bid for re-election, citing Democrats' role in stalling the CLARITY Act. The industry's priority bill aims to regulate digital assets, but it failed to gather the necessary 60 votes on September 15.
Brown was a thorn in the side of crypto stakeholders when he held the Senate Banking Committee gavel from 2021 to 2025, throttling legislation at a pace that frustrated industry participants. If he regains his seniority and seat, it could potentially allow him to regain control of the committee.
Crypto interests are loading up for this election cycle, with Fairshake having $193 million at its disposal when the year began. The PAC still held about $130 million as of August, courtesy of contributions from Coinbase, Ripple, and venture firm Andreessen Horowitz.
