Fairshake Unleashes $30M Campaign Against Crypto Critic Sherrod Brown
Fairshake, a crypto advocacy group, is escalating its efforts to influence U.S. regulatory policy by launching a $30 million campaign against Ohio Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown. The campaign, which begins on Tuesday, will include advertising and direct mail efforts aimed at pushing back against what Fairshake sees as future regulatory pressure on the industry under Democratic leadership.
Brown has been a frequent target of crypto-backed political groups due to his long record of support for tougher digital-asset oversight and consumer protections. He previously served as the top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, and if he wins election again, he would return to that committee.
Fairshake has already spent $41 million against Brown in 2024, when he was one of the industry's highest-profile political opponents. The group currently has $120.4 million in reserve and plans to announce support for or opposition to candidates from both parties in House and Senate races.
