Fake GIWA Ethereum Layer-2 Network Siphons Off 766.25 ETH

A fake Ethereum layer-2 network masquerading as GIWA drained nearly 766.25 ETH from unsuspecting traders, exposing a scheme built around an unreleased mainnet.

The fake network was launched on September 26 at 2:10:59 p.m. ET using Chain ID 9134 and OP Stack systems, including a bridge and batcher.

The draining transaction was recorded at Ethereum block 26,067,309, with over $1 million in ETH being siphoned off from the victims' accounts.

DYORSWAP has been tracking the network's operators and has distributed more than 200 ETH to affected users from its own funds.
