Fake XRP Staking Platform Scams Investors Out of $19 Million
Seoul police have made arrests in connection with a fake XRP staking platform that swindled investors out of $19 million. The platform promised guaranteed returns on virtual asset deposits, but instead defrauded 71 investors of 3.4 million XRP.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's cyber investigation unit arrested three suspects on charges of fraud.
Investors were lured in by the promise of monthly returns on their deposits, a classic tactic used by scammers to deceive unsuspecting victims.
The police are urging investors to be cautious and verify any investment opportunities before committing their funds.
