Farage Denies Link to Crypto Conspiracist Who Scammed Investors

Nigel Farage has denied any link to John Mappin, a crypto conspiracist who promoted Awoke Coin on his social media channels and encouraged followers to invest in the 'anti-woke' digital currency.

Mappin, a Scientologist and proponent of QAnon, is a personal friend and former business partner of Farage's, and has hosted him at his Camelot Castle hotel in Cornwall. He also introduced Farage to Dutch Green Business (DGB), a carbon-offsetting company with Scientology links, where Farage was granted £1 million share options.

A joint investigation by openDemocracy and The Times raises questions about Farage's association with Mappin, who has been accused of scamming investors out of thousands of pounds through Awoke Coin. Mappin joined Telegram groups promoting the coin and declared his family were holders of it, but claims he had no role in its management or operation.

Mappin is also a vocal supporter of President Putin's regime and has exchanged messages with senior figures, including Kirill Dmitriev and Alexander Dugin. He was photographed with Maxim Elovik, the Russian military attache who was expelled from Britain accused of being a spy.
