Farage Grilled Over £5m Crypto Gift from Harborne
Nigel Farage, the leader of the Reform UK party, has been interviewed by the parliamentary commissioner for standards regarding a £5 million gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne.
The investigation into whether Farage should have declared the interest resumed after his party's win in the Clacton by-election.
Farage told the Sunday Times that he had been interviewed by Daniel Greenberg, the parliamentary commissioner for standards, in a 30-minute session at the Palace of Westminster last month.
Under Commons rules, new MPs are required to register any gifts worth more than £300 they received in the previous 12 months, unless it 'could not be reasonably thought by others' to relate to their political activities.
Farage has maintained that the gift was not political and that he has done nothing wrong.
