Farage Probe Revives Amid Tether.bet Shutdown

Share

Nigel Farage's return to Parliament has allowed an investigation into a £5 million gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne to resume. Harborne donated more than £25 million to Reform UK, and his payments company IFX was involved in payment flows associated with Tether.bet, the offshore crypto gambling site that recently shut down.

Tether.bet allowed customers to place large bets using cryptocurrencies, but ceased operations around the time of Farage's by-election win. While the shutdown follows scrutiny over serving British customers without a UK Gambling Commission licence, no reason for the closure has been publicly confirmed.
