Farmmi Stock Soars 350% Amid Memecoin Frenzy
Farmmi, Inc., a Cayman Islands holding company listed on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker FAMI, saw its stock surge by as much as 350% to $0.50 on September 2, 2026.
The sudden price jump was linked to the debut of the JINQIAN memecoin on Robinhood Chain, which borrowed its name from Farmmi's own regulatory filings. The token was paired against an unofficial onchain token with FAMI's stock ticker, creating a meme-driven trading frenzy.
Nansen, an onchain analytics firm, attributed the attention transfer to the crypto market and explained that buying the JINQIAN token did not force anyone to buy or deliver real equity. However, the analysts cautioned that onchain attention can quickly impact offchain markets, highlighting the risks of unregulated token trading.
Farmmi's compliance troubles further underscored its vulnerability to speculative onchain attention shocks. The company had received a letter from Nasdaq on August 11, 2026, notifying it of non-compliance with the minimum bid price requirement due to consecutive days below $1.00.
