FBI Symposium Tackles Cryptocurrency Crime for Ninth Consecutive Year

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been holding an annual symposium on combating virtual-asset crime for nine consecutive years.

This year's event, which took place in Texas this month, brought together law enforcement officials, overseas investigators, and crypto security specialists to share information on related crimes.

The attendees included blockchain forensics firms Chainalysis and TRM Labs, as well as officials from the US Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

The discussions covered various illicit uses of cryptocurrency, including cartel and terrorism financing, cyber fraud, child sexual abuse material, human trafficking, and North Korea's crypto-related activities.
