FCA Opens Crypto Gateway Ahead of Supervisory Framework
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has launched its crypto gateway for authorisation ahead of the supervisory framework coming into force in October 2027. This marks a significant step towards regulating the industry, which has been largely unregulated until now.
The FCA's move is aimed at providing clarity and stability to the market. The supervisory framework will require all crypto firms operating in the UK to be authorized by the FCA, ensuring they meet certain standards and requirements.
The gateway is open until February 2027, with a deadline of September 30, 2026, for firms to submit their applications. This gives companies ample time to prepare and comply with the new regulations.
