A major exploit hit the Fetch.ai bridge on September 19, 2026, resulting in the loss of hundreds of millions of unbacked tokens. The incident occurred when a single call drained the FET liquidity from the TokenConversionManagerV3 contract on Ethereum, allowing an attacker to mint new tokens without authorization.

The affected tokens include NTX, AGIX, and WMTx, with the attacker creating 408.53 million NTX tokens worth around $462,730. The incident also saw the minting of 260 million AGIX and 53.838 million WMTx on Ethereum.

Fetch.ai has halted the conversion of AGIX into FET and disabled affected wallets and contracts as a precaution. Existing holders are advised to check their wallet, exchange, and tax obligations due to the incident's impact on token supply and value.
